Located in Soi Somkid, within the Ploenchit area, Orveda Maison Bangkok is a renovation of a 1950s wooden-and-concrete residence into a space for scientific beauty. The approach focuses on retaining the original structure while adapting it to support the brand’s spatial and functional needs.

A key concept in the project is harmony in duality. This reflects Orveda’s philosophy of balancing the visible and invisible, nature and science, tradition and modernity. In design terms, this is expressed through the combination of soft, organic forms with more defined, contemporary lines. Natural materials are paired with refined finishes to create a controlled contrast. Spaces are kept relatively calm and intimate, with selective integration of technical elements where required.

Positioned within a quieter part of inner Bangkok, the Maison benefits from its setting within a low-rise, green neighborhood. The existing house is largely preserved, with its proportions, structure, and material character maintained. Design interventions are kept minimal and precise—focused on improving circulation, introducing new functions, and aligning the space with Orveda’s identity.

The connection to the neighboring House of Fritz Hansen through a shared courtyard helps establish continuity across the site, linking architecture, landscape, and program.

Overall, the project does not aim to redefine the building, but to adjust and refine it. The design approach mirrors Orveda’s skincare philosophy, where balance and consistency are prioritized. The result is a space that supports both the operational requirements and the intended brand experience without relying on strong visual gestures.
