Located in Klong Lud Kred, Bangkok, PARK KRET River Club is conceived as a vibrant riverfront retreat for families—a place to gather, dine, and engage in recreation. Positioned at the confluence of the Chao Phraya and Lud Kred rivers, the project offers a calm setting that draws visitors into the surrounding landscape.

The design takes cues from traditional Thai riverside houses, integrating with the site’s natural topography. A generous river deck forms the primary entry, opening to wide views and functioning as a communal platform. The main structure is set further back, preserving the existing foundation while subtly reflecting the layered history of the site.

Material choices emphasize local identity and craft. Steep corrugated roofs and redwood elements reference Thai vernacular architecture, while Koh Kred’s clay pottery informs a warm, earthy palette. Pottery vessels are placed throughout the deck as both decorative elements and planters, reinforcing a connection to local traditions.

The landscape enhances the sense of retreat. Existing trees are retained, complemented by dense planting of cigar plants that create a lush, immersive atmosphere while maintaining the ecological character of the area.

An outdoor bamboo pavilion provides a flexible space for dining and social gatherings. Designed for shade and openness, it allows visitors to engage with shifting light and river breezes throughout the day.

PARK KRET is more than a restaurant; it is a social space that encourages interaction and relaxation, reinterpreting riverside living for contemporary urban life.
